Workspace settings

Newsroom profile, vertical, default language, taxonomy, and custom source preferences.

Workspace settings live at /app/settings. They cover the things you set during onboarding plus a handful that show up later.

Sections inside settings

Newsroom profile

Publication name, vertical, default draft language, time zone.

Sources

Manage your monitored set, including custom RSS / sitemap feeds.

Taxonomy

Categories your newsroom uses for triage and delivery routing.

Notifications

In-app, email, webhook channel preferences for alerts.

Team

Invite teammates, assign roles, manage seats. See Team for details.

Billing

Plan, monthly capacity, seats, and recalibration policy. See Billing for details.

Integrations

WordPress connect, webhook URLs, API keys. See Integrations for details.

Newsroom profile

Publication name

What your audience knows you by. Used internally as voice context for drafts; not output as a byline.

Primary vertical

Politics, tech, sports, food, climate, markets, fashion, gaming — your beat. Adjustable later from settings.

Default draft language

Greek or English at draft today. Drafts always use the workspace default unless overridden per story.

Time zone

Used in timestamps shown across feed, editorial board, and notifications.

Sources management

The same surface you use from Monitoring, accessible here too. Newsroom admins typically use Settings; reporters and desk editors typically use Monitoring.

One source list per workspace

There's a single monitored-source list per workspace. Different desks within a team share the same set; rules and notifications are how each desk filters its slice.

Taxonomy

The categories your newsroom uses for stories. By default HermesAI seeds a taxonomy from your vertical:

  • Politics newsroom → politics, foreign affairs, EU, parliament, elections.
  • Tech newsroom → AI, security, big tech, startups, regulation.
  • Sports newsroom → football, basketball, transfers, tournaments.
  • ... and so on for every vertical.

You can:

  • Add categories that match your existing CMS taxonomy.
  • Remove ones you never use.
  • Map HermesAI categories onto your CMS categories at publish time (configured in Integrations).
