Billing and capacity
How HermesAI bills, how monthly capacity works, when to upgrade or add seats, and the recalibration policy.

How HermesAI bills
Subscription, in EUR
Plan-based, monthly. Individual plans are fixed; Business plans are base + per-extra-seat.
Capacity, also in EUR
The only AI usage meter. Every AI call accrues actual cost against your monthly capacity. No token bills, no surprise overage.
Capacity is guaranteed for the period
Whatever you've signed up for is what you get for that billing period. Recalibration only happens at renewal, with at least 30 days' notice.

What you see in your billing card
Current plan
Which plan you're on, included seats (Business), and renewal date.
Capacity meter
Used / total for the active period. Shown as a percentage on Individual; in EUR on Business; full ledger on Enterprise.
Threshold notifications
50%, 80%, 100%. The card shows where you are.
Overage status
Whether overage is enabled and what the overage rate is.
When capacity gets tight
50% notification
Visible reminder. Nothing pauses; you keep working as normal.
80% warning
You're on track to consume the envelope. The calm response is to plan an upgrade or seat addition before it pauses.
100% pause
Tenant-billable AI requests pause until the next billing period unless overage is enabled. Reading the feed and reviewing existing drafts continues to work; new drafts won't be composed.
Override with overage
From the billing card, enable overage. Capacity beyond the envelope is metered and charged at the agreed overage rate (set on your plan).
Upgrading
Open billing
/app/settings?section=billing.
Click Manage plan
Opens the Polar-hosted billing portal. (Polar is the billing provider.)
Choose new plan
Self-serve upgrade for Individual ↔ Business. Enterprise upgrades go through contact.
Confirm
The new plan is active immediately. Capacity adjusts pro-rata for the current period.
Adding seats (Business)
Open billing
/app/settings?section=billing.
Adjust seat count
Increase the seat count. Each extra seat adds €15 (Plus) or €39 (Pro) to the monthly subscription, plus extra capacity to the shared monthly envelope.
Recalibration policy
Capacity guarantee
Your monthly capacity is guaranteed for the active billing period.
If HermesAI needs to adjust capacity numbers (because of provider price changes or other triggers), you receive at least 30 days' written notice, and the new numbers only apply at your next renewal.
The triggers that may justify a recalibration:
- changes in provider / model routing,
- provider price changes greater than 10% on a model that accounts for a meaningful share of your usage,
- sustained margin compression or sustained p90 cost overruns,
- new operation types added to your plan.
You can always cancel before the new cycle without penalty.
Invoices
Invoices are listed under billing → Invoices, generated by Polar. Download as PDF for accounting.
Switching from Individual to Business
Upgrade plan
From the billing portal, switch to a Business plan. Your existing workspace becomes the "owner" workspace.
Invite teammates
From Team, invite teammates and assign roles.
Carry-over
Existing stories, drafts, monitoring rules, and integrations stay. Capacity adjusts to the Business envelope.
